refers to a scenario in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in 2008 with 
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 - The Sleeping Princess and the Karakuri Mansion.
History
1,000 years past, Shiren's Ancestor was a Shogunate Ninja who had been in love with Princess Kaguya since they were kids. When they were kids, a 1,000-year-old Bamboo Harvester asked them if they believed in eternal love, asking what they would swear for it; offering them eternal love in exchange for the moon. As an adult, Shiren's Ancestor was tasked with finding Kaguya and returned to Otsutsuki Village on numerous occasions, but refused to report her. Eventually, Princess Kaguya was betrayed by one of her personal guards, and the Tsukiyomi Shrine (Japanese: 月読神社) was burned with her inside of it. The Bamboo Harvester returned and offered Kaguya an elixir that gave her eternal life, leaving her in a comatose state for 1,000 years inside the Karakuri Mansion.
Shiren travels to the Capital to meet his uncle, Sensei, who he hadn't seen in 10 years. Sensei shows him the Key of Kudan, an artefact that had been passed down in his family for 1,000 years, which was required to access the Karakui Mansion. Shiren and Sensei travel to Otsutsuki Village, where they explore the Ruined Temple and Hourai Mountain and encounter the Hourai Guardians. After defeating one of the guardians, they're ambushed. Sensei and Shiren are split up, with Shiren being transformed into a Mamel, and Shiren's childhood friend Asuka arrives. Asuka rescues Shiren, and they begin to travel together, exploring the Karakuri Mansion and eventually reuniting with Sensei.
Continuity
- The death of Ikazuchikami, who later appeared in Pachinko CR Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer: Princess Suzune and the Tower of Slumber
is what places it at the end of the timeline. This is due to the monsters in the game being from the dreams of Shiren and his friends.
