The Bamboo Village (Japanese: 竹林の村) is the first village the player comes across after leaving Canyon Hamlet, located between the Mountain Stream (floor 4) and Pegasus Ridge (floor 5), the Bamboo village provides a number of services to new and returning players.

Locations and Services

• Blacksmith
  • For a fee of 1,000 Gitan Weapons can be upgraded or transformed.
• Bamboo Village Shop Items
  • 6 Items are displayed for purchase, but the first time the shop is entered, Pekeji will cause an additional 4 to drop onto the floor, which can also be purchased.
• Wagons
  • After Table Mountain is completed, the "Man" in the southern house will become "Goro the Wagon Driver", and Shiren can request a ride to:

• Mountaintop Town
• Janus Valley
• Cryptic Rock Valley
• Golden City

Dungeon Entrances

Kitchen God After completing the Naoki and The Cliffs and clearing Table Mountain for the first time, north of the village, the shrine of the Kitchen God Bufu will disappear to reveal the dungeon entrance.

	Blacksmith	かじ屋	Can upgrade the power of Weapons by + 1 or +3 (on rare occasions) for 1,000 Gitan.
	Smith's Apprentice	かじ屋の娘	After completing The Smith's Apprentice, occasionally appears in the Smiths position and upgrades Weapon for free with a higher chance of adding a +3 instead of +1.
	Pekeji	ペケジ	Works at the Shop and meets Shiren at the bar several times before completing the My Brother Pekeji (quest) Quest.
	Shopkeeper	店主	Sells Items to the player.
	Shopkeeper's Wife	おかみ	Reprimands Pekeji for his clumsiness.
	Fortuneteller	辻うらない	Gives the player one of many fortunes. See Characters.
	Strong Man	強そうな男	Tells the player that others that have gone to Table Mountain never returned. Is blinded by and later assaults Oryu the Blinder
	Chubby Man	小太りの男	Says that vagabonds are reckless for venturing to Table Mountain. Is blinded by and later assaults Oryu the Blinder
	Guest	客	Tells the player to watch their Gitan amount while in a Shop.
	Barman	酒場の店主	Warns the player about the ability of Rice Changer Family on upcoming floors.
	Old Gourmet	食通じじい	Mentions that The Peak in Mountaintop Town has good food
	Jar Collector	壺マニア	Mentions that a famous potter, Gaibara the Legendary Potter is working with his apprentices in Mountaintop Town. After completing Table Mountain, mentions the Bottomless Jar.
	Shibutare	シブタレ	Warns the player about Evil Soldier Family, that once defeated will make nearby enemies harder to beat.
	Kampachi	カンパチ	Tells the player that Pegasus Ridge is difficult, and once you get past there, you can rest in Mountaintop Town.
	Farmer	農家	Complains that Field Bandit Family change Items into Weeds.
	Old Man	老人	Mentions that legends that the Golden condor used to fly in the skies.
	Girl	少女	Is surprised by the legend of the Golden Condor.

Monsters

Though monsters do not initially spawn in towns, nor do they spawn as turns pass, if Shiren throws a Monster Jar or triggers a Summons Trap, monsters will spawn, specific to the town:

Trivia

• When entering the shop for the first time, Pekeji can drop Giant Riceball for purchase, which are not normally sold by the shop.
• Bamboo Village has an unused The Winds of Kron value set at 9,900. Using cheats to set the count to 0 won't cause anything to happen.
