Dialogue

In Bamboo Village

Hail, traveler. I am a fortuneteller in the service of Riva, the god of fate. Shall I read your fortune and predict how your journey shall go?

Have my fortune read Refuse

Have my fortune read

Let me see… Hmmmmmmmmm… I see them! I see the winds along your journey!

And

A cold wind shall blow. Your travels will disappoint you.

Or

The spring winds shall blow. Your journey shall be warm and calm.

Or

I see… naught but gales and storms! It would be wise to travel on another day.

Or

A hot wind shall blow. Fires and explosions shall threaten.

Or

The winds shall guide you, and always be at your back.

Or

The winds will not blow. It should be an uneventful journey.

Or

The winds shall blow against you. Take heed. It would be best to assume your prayers will be unanswered.

Or

Sudden gusts shall blow. Danger awaits when least expected.

And

As a final note of caution…

And

Drink not the Herb of Revival! It is enough that you carry it with you.

Or

Read not the Scroll of Removal! You must throw it! Well, I suppose you could read it once, just to see what happens.

Or

Check your armband before throwing any jars. You may not know why now, but you shall understand by and by…

Or

Tease not the townspeople. Swing not your staves at them!

And

Forget not what I have said!

Refuse

I see…

After fortune

There ends your fortune for today.

Wish

The legends were true! The Golden Condor! The golden land! And now, for my wish… I wish for the fortunes I give to come true!

Rescue Pekeji Quest

Start

What are you yelling about so early in the morning? But never mind that. There’s someone here to see you.

…… One day, I heard a man’s thoughts. I followed the psychic trail, and arrived here… So… Have you been hearing the voice of a ghost?

Yes! Yes we have! We heard it just now! But that was a ghost? Pekeji’s a ghost now?!

He must be…

What?!! Pekeji… Dead?!

No… he’s not dead yet. He exists between the physical and spiritual realms. But if he remains there, he will certainly die. Pekeji must have been dragged into the Ravine of the Dead. It’s an evil place, that feeds on the souls of its victims. Only those who hear them can rescue them… You are the only ones!

We better hurry! Where is this Ravine of the Dead?

It lies below Janus Valley. He may have fallen from the bridge there… Pekeji helped me once when he lived in Bamboo Village. And he owes me money… So for my sake too, save Pekeji.

I understand. We’ll save him! The Ravine of the Dead is in Janus Valley, Shiren. If we ask Butafooter, he might know about it. Let’s go to Janus Valley!

After Dialogue

The Ravine of the Dead lies below Janus Valley. Please, save Pekeji from the Ravine of the Dead!

End

My brother! Thank you! I was about to die there! I would never have gotten back here without you!

Wonderful! I’m so glad Pekeji is alright. Now he can repay me.
Repay… you?
Yes. Have you forgotten that you borrowed 2000 gitans from me?

He borrowed money from us, too. We’re waiting to be repaid too.

Hey… Where is he…

He ran away!

Hey, get back here! Not again…
