Shiren 6:List of Nintendo Switch Updates

The following patches were applied to the Nintendo Switch release of / Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.

Aside from fixing Development Oversights and applying various changes, updates  1.1.0,  1.2.0,  2.0.0, and  2.1.0 also include additional playable content. Some of the additional playable content introduced in the  2.0.0 and  2.1.0 updates is, additionally, locked behind paid DLC, which may also come with some adjustments of its own. DLC additions and changes are listed alongside regular updates in the changelog on this page.

Updates

1.0.0

The initial version of the game, found in physical releases.

1.0.1

The first patch of the game was available on the Japanese Nintendo Switch eShop as the digital preorder version.

1.0.2

The second patch of the game was released on January 23, 2024, two days before the game was released. It fixes a major bug present in the previous patch.

1.0.3

The third patch of the game was released on February 16, 2024. It serves as the first updated version for its English release, as the patch notes resume the fixes made between versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.3.

1.0.4

The fourth patch of the game was released on March 7, 2024. It fixes a major bug present in the previous patch. Two more bugs were identified in this version and were patched in future updates.

■ バージョン1.0.4の修正
・中断再開時に、装備品の銀封印された印が発動してしまうことがあった問題を修正しました。
・救助時に救助対象が異なる、対象者が居ないといったことがあった問題を修正しました。
・垂れ流しの腕輪で垂れ流した道具が見えなくなる等表示がおかしくなることがあった問題を修正しました。
・預かり屋のウィンドウを開いた際、住み着いたモンスターの鳴き声が聞こえないように調整しました。
・その他、細かい不具合を多数修正しました。

■ 今後のアップデートによる不具合修正について
・バージョン1.0.3に上げた際、まれにアスカのイベントが進行しなくなる不具合を確認しております。
この不具合に遭遇すると、いくつかのダンジョンが開始できないセーブデータになってしまいます。
本件については、次回以降のバージョンアップにて修正及び、セーブデータの復旧ができるよう対応中です。
ご迷惑をおかけしますが、今しばらくお待ちいただきますようお願いいたします。

※既にアスカが旅仲間になるイベントまで進めている方や、最新バージョンにて最初から始める方に本問題は発生しません。
これから始められる方はバージョンを1.0.4に更新のうえ、始めていただきますようお願いいたします。

・新規で新しい風来日記を作成し冒険を始めた際、ごくまれにボス戦開始時に停止することを確認しております。
本件も次回以降のバージョンアップにて修正予定ですが、万が一発生してしまった場合は一度アプリケーションを終了いただき、再度起動することで解消することができます。

[1.0.4]

    Fixed an issue where a silver-sealed rune's effect could become activated when resuming a suspended game.
    Fixed Rescue-related issues (rescuee is different from that of the accepted request, rescuee is missing on the target floor, etc.).
    Fixed an issue where items dropped due to Item-losing Bracelet's effect were not displayed properly on the floor.
    Turned off monster pups' cries while the Item Holder's window is opened.
    Other miscellaneous fixes.

[Planned fixes in future updates]

    Version 1.0.3 had an issue causing Asuka's event to not progress in rare occasions. When this occurred, it altered the save data, rendering some of the dungeons inaccessible. We are currently working to fix the affected save data in a future update. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.
    (The above issue will not occur if you have progressed Asuka's event to the point where she offers to accompany Shiren in the dungeon, or have started the game from the beginning in the latest version. If you are starting the game for the first time, please make sure that the game has been updated to version 1.0.4.)
    When starting the game from a new Wanderer's Diary, in rare occasions, the game stops when the boss battle begins.
    We are working to fix this issue in a future update, but if you happen to encounter this issue, please close the app and restart the game.

1.0.5

The fifth patch of the game was released on March 27, 2024. The identified bugs from past versions were patched there.

    Fixed an issue causing the game to stop when a boss battle begins on rare occasions.

■バグ修正/調整
・特定条件の呪いなどの状態識別に問題があった不具合を修正しました
・目つぶし状態のひまガッパ種が投げ合うことでフリーズすることがあった不具合を修正しました
・リザルト画面の表示が一部稀に正しく反映されない不具合を修正しました

・その他、約120ヶ所の細かい調整、修正に対応しました

■注意点
・1.1.0アップデートに伴い、パラレルプレイデータの互換性がなくなり、ローカルに保存されたデータも再開できなくなります。

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today announced a free content update for the Roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for Nintendo Switch™. This update is available now and includes new Sacred Tree Dungeons, a Dojo Challenge, and more.

Free Content Update with New Features Added

1. Challenging New Sacred Tree Dungeons
The Sacred Tree, located in the starting town of Shukuba Beach, holds difficult dungeons with special rules. Select from different modes for a more challenging adventure.

Different Modes Available

    Normal Trial: Replay the dungeons of the main game with the same rules while also being able to change your playable character. For dungeons that had a boss battle at the end, you can now challenge them again.
    Time Trial: Race to the finish and strive to complete the dungeon in as little time as possible.
    Turn Trial: Master efficiency by completing the dungeon in as few turns as possible.
    Countdown Trial: Aim to complete the dungeon with a time limit on every turn and the dungeon as a whole.
    Challenge Trial: Set your own personal restrictions to truly challenge yourself, such as completing the dungeon without using certain items or collapsing.

*There is also a mysterious sixth mode.

2. Play using "Kokatsu Shiren"
The Kokatsu Shiren form from the main game can now be selected as a playable character in the Sacred Tree trials. Previously, Kokatsu Shiren could only be used in the Cavern of Suiryu dungeon, but will now also be available in other dungeons.

Kokatsu Shiren Form
Kokatsu and Shiren combine into a new form with new skills. While unable to equip anything, Kokatsu Shiren can unleash special attacks by expending Fullness.

*The Kokatsu Shiren form can be used in the Sacred Tree trials only after clearing the Cavern of Suiryu dungeon.

3. Dojo Challenge Mode
Dojo Challenge Mode has been added to the Monster Dojo. Enjoy mini-stages where you can learn the characteristics of each monster.

*Dojo Challenge Mode can be played after clearing Serpentcoil Island in the main story, and after the Monster Dojo becomes available.

4. Expanded Storehouse
The capacity of the Item Holder Storehouse, where you can deposit items and weapons found in the dungeon, will expand from 180 items to 960 items.

5. Balance Adjustments and Other Improvements Added

Second Content Update Coming Soon
A second update is in development, targeting a Summer 2024 release. This update will introduce even more new content and functional improvements. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding release and content details.

The update which is available now adds several new features including playable character, Tatsumi Shiren, and more dungeon floors for deeper exploration.

New Features Added

1. Play Using "Tatsumi Shiren"
Tatsumi Shiren, a combination of Tatsumi from the main game and Shiren, can now be selected as a playable character in the Sacred Tree trials. Tatsumi Shiren makes their exclusive debut in this latest free content update.

Tatsumi Shiren
Tatsumi Shiren is a combination of Tatsumi and Shiren. While unable to equip anything, Tatsumi Shiren can unleash special attacks by expending Fullness.

*The Tatsumi Shiren form can be used in the Sacred Tree trials only after clearing the Cavern of Suiryu dungeon.

2. Increased Dungeon Floor Count
In Sacred Tree mode, the following dungeons will have more floors, offering a greater challenge and more opportunities for exploration.

3. Basic Training Mode Added
A "Basic Training" mode has been added to the Monster Dojo. In this mode, you can learn the basics of dungeon navigation. Starting with a predetermined set of items and enemy placements, you'll practice techniques to help you reach the stairs.

*Basic Training mode can be used after unlocking the Monster Dojo.

4. New Threat Alert
The new 'Threat Alert' warns you when you are about to be knocked out by taking damage equal to or greater than the amount you just received. You can turn the "Threat Alert" feature on or off in the game settings.

5. Balance Adjustments and Other Improvements Added

• Parallel Play from Version 1.1.0 and later are playable
• A new achievement, a new reward, and a new Top Menu icon were added to the game

2.0.0

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today announced the Plus Pack season pass paid DLC for Roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for Nintendo Switch™. The Plus Pack includes new playable characters and 10 new dungeons.

The Plus Pack will be released in two parts: Part 1 on September 10, 2024, in North America and Europe, and Part 2 on October 31, 2024.

In addition, the Third Free Content Update is available now. This update will implement a number of new elements, including three new dungeons and the Gear Rack where you can display weapons and shields.

About Plus Pack
Part 1 adds Koppa as a playable character, and Part 2 adds Asuka.

In the Sacred Tree mode, you’ll be able to select a total of two new playable characters. Part 1 features Koppa the Talking Ferret. Although Koppa cannot inflict damage with attacks, he moves at double speed. Since Koppa cannot equip any gear, you'll advance through the dungeon using special abilities like Burrow and Frantic Fart, which consume Fullness. In Part 2, you’ll get Asuka. Additional details to be announced.

	Koppa
A ferret who travels together with Shiren. He is a "talking ferret" that understands human language. *Koppa can be used in the Sacred Tree trials after unlocking Tatsumi Shiren and progressing through the story.
Asuka
She is a wandering swordswoman who is old friends with Shiren and Koppa. She has come to Serpentcoil Island for a specific reason and is reunited with them. 	

10 New Dungeons
There will be a total of 10 new dungeons: five in Part 1 and five in Part 2. In Part 1 of the Plus Pack, you’ll find dungeons such as Forest of Frugality, where your items are swapped with each floor you move to, and Peachy Trap Domain, where utilizing traps and transforming into monsters is essential. In Part 2 of the Plus Pack, we’ll introduce a high-difficulty dungeon called Soul of Serpentcoil Island, which surpasses the game's most difficult dungeon, Heart of Serpentcoil Island.

Third Free Content Update Introduces New Features Available Now
These free dungeons can be played after clearing Serpentcoil Island and progressing through the story.
Go Go Dungeon
A short dungeon with 5 floors. Monsters get suddenly stronger with each floor. If you clear them consecutively, it will be recorded in the dungeon description. 	
Wanderers’ Highway
A dungeon featuring Companions and Roamers, easily identifiable items, and narrow floors with good visibility. 	
Quietude of Serpentcoil Island
A more difficult dungeon based on Heart of Serpentcoil Island. 	

Gear Rack
Display weapons and shields you have acquired in the newly added Gear Rack, available at the Item Holder in Shukuba Beach. You can take gear from the rack any time.

Additional adjustments and improvements have also been made.

Undocumented changes

• Four new achievements and two new rewards were added to the game
  • Six additional achievements, two additional rewards and a new Top Menu icon were added to the game
• The order of the achievements was changed by the update
  • The order of the achievements was also changed again by the DLC

＜不具合修正＞

    ダンジョン「推測の修験道 裏」にて、クリア時に持ち帰る道具が別の道具に変わってしまうことがあった不具合を修正しました。
    御神木で操作キャラ「アスカ」でプレイした際、会心でのダメージ計算に一部誤りがあったため修正を行いました。
    ※本修正により、一部会心のダメージがこれまでより多くなります。
    流れる水路があるマップにて、特定の条件が組み合わさった場合に、ダッシュ移動がゆっくりになってしまう不具合を修正しました。
    新しい風来日記を作成し冒険を始めた際、ごくまれにボス戦開始時に停止する問題を修正しました。
    ※安定性は向上しましたが、もし本症状が出てしまった場合は、アプリケーションの再起動をお試しください。
    その他、約9カ所の細かい調整、修正に対応しました。
    ※バランスの変更は行っていません。

- Issue where the item to be brought back upon clearing the Training Path of Extra Inference dungeon would change into a different item.

- Asuka's Critical Hit damage calculation when playing as her at the Sacred Tree.

- Issue where the dash movement slowed when certain conditions were met on a map with a waterway.

- Issue where the game would crash on rare occasions after creating a new Wanderer's Diary and starting the boss fight.
*This update lowers the likelihood, but this issue may still occur. If you experience this, please close the app and restart the game.

    DLC未購入の状態で、DLCにて追加されるダンジョンの救助依頼をダウンロードした場合、削除することができない不具合を修正しました。
    その他、約12カ所の細かい調整、修正に対応しました。

    高フレームレート環境下でプレイした際、特定の挙動が早くなり、操作が困難になっていた問題を修正しました。
    特定タイミングでアプリが強制終了、及びPCの電源が切れた時等に、セーブデータが壊れることがあった問題に対し、壊れにくくなる修正を行いました。
    画面設定「ボーダーレス」または「フルスクリーン」設定時、マウスカーソルを非表示にする対応を行いました。

Undocumented Changes From Unknown Updates

• In English, Starvation Trap used to be called "Hunger Trap", which was already the name of another trap. This was fixed in an update prior to Ver. 2.0.3.
• Trying to download Parallel Data using a Parallel ID for a different region now gives an error message that says the region doesn't match, instead of simply saying the ID doesn't exist. This can be seen with official Parallel IDs. This change was made in an update prior to Ver. 2.0.0, or it may be handled by the server and unrelated to game updates.
• At some point before 2.1.1, the English description for Ultra Gazer was expanded to add that it drops Gitan when defeated.
• The dungeon Strolling Highway was added to the game in an unknown update.
