Shiren 6:Monster Pup
Monster Pups (Japanese: モンスターの子供) are friendly monster characters in /
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. They appear in Shukuba Beach, where the player can pet them and offer them money, and up to 3 (random selection at the start of each in-game day) can follow Shiren around town and inside buildings. They become friendly and eventually start appearing as characters in dungeons, where they help the player if spoken to. If ignored, they will leave Shukuba Beach and stop appearing, but after a couple days, new Monster Pups will start appearing. New Monster Pups appear in the box next to the inn, and will appear at other locations on later days. If Shiren is particularly friendly with a Monster Pup, the Monster Pup will look happy when Shiren is nearby.
Monster Pups can be of different species, and multiples of the same species can appear, with different names. There are 10 possible names for each species. Up to 10 Monster Pups can be in Shukuba Beach at once. Monster Pups can be of the following 10 species: Armordillo, Bored Kappa, Fluffy Bunny, Gazer, Ghost Radish, Mamel, Nigiri Morph, Octopling, Pop Tank, and Thiefwalrus.
This feature is unlocked shortly after seeing the credits.
