Articuno (Japanese: フリーザー) is an Ice-type/Flying-type Pokémon species that appears in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. It made its debut in Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team in 2005. It doesn't evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

Articuno is one of the Legendary Bird Trio.

Name Etymology

Articuno may beInfo symbol.png a combination of "Arctic" and "Uno", the Spanish word for 1. The other Legendary Bird Pokémon; Zapdos "Dos" (2) and Moltres "Tres" (3) also follow the same naming scheme of using the Spanish spelling for numbers at the end of their names.
