Special Defense (Japanese: とくぼう) is a stat in  Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It affects how much damage is taken when a Pokémon is attacked by Moves in the special category.

Items That Affect Special Defense

	Awakening		It increases Special Defense by +2 stages.
	Barrage Guard		Using this emera as an item increases your Special Defense stat by 2 points temporarily.
	Four-Leaf Cookie		Raises your max HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed permanently. If you're lucky enough, it will raise multiple stats.
	Mega Donut		Raises your max HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed permanently. If you're lucky enough, it will raise multiple stats.
	Red Looplet		It boosts the holder's Special Defense stat by 20 points.
	Soothing Seed		Eating it resets the Pokémon's Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense, accuracy, and evasiveness. Can be positive or negative depending on the circumstances.
	Sp. Def Looplet		It boosts the holder's Special Defense stat by 15 points.
	Sp. Def Looplet (Extra Notches)		It boosts the holder's Special Defense stat by 15 points. Has extra notches.
	Sweet Chocolate		Raises your max HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed permanently. If you're lucky enough, it will raise multiple stats.
	Time Looplet		It boosts the holder's Special Defense stat significantly by 40 points.
	Vile Seed		It decreases Special Defense by -3 stages.
	Zinc		Raises the Pokémon's Special Defense stat by 2 points permanently.

Using any Blue Emeras as items increases the Special Defense stat by 2 points temporarily.
