The Doppelganger Staff (Japanese: みがわりのつえ) is a Staff in Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer GB - Monster of Moonlight Village. When swung, it will fire a bolt that will transform any Monster or Character it hits into a fake Shiren and confuse them for 30 turns, before they revert to their original monster. Monsters will target the fake Shiren instead of Shiren, and will not target Shiren whilst a fake Shiren is on the floor.

Tips For Use

As other monsters will not attack you for the duration of the effect, the staff can be used to avoid damage for a short period of time.
If a monster succeeds in defeating a fake Shiren, they will level up, which may serve as a convenient way to gain lots of experience early on.
Monsters hit by the bolt will not use their special ability, and will be confused, making certain monsters much less threatening.
