Locations in Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. The games feature a total of 45 dungeons; 31 story dungeons, 12 extras and 2 alternate paths.

Town and Story Locations

The Pokémon Square is the only location where the player mainly interacts with characters, shops, or enters other locations, including dungeons. In this game, it does not use the grid movement from dungeons, and friendly characters can be affected by interaction between them and the player.

Dungeons

For additional reading, see Rescue Team:Dungeon.

Dungeons in this game consist of randomly generated floors with loot and equipment scattered about. Players of other Mystery Dungeon games will be greeted with multiple dungeons scattered around the continent, as they are unlocked by progressing through the main story and the Post-credits story. However, it should not be underestimated, because first-time players are likely to fail a lot more in dungeons after completing the main story. Items can also be stored in Kangaskhan Storage. This allows the player to get many powerful items, which can make getting through the dungeons significantly easier.
