The Air Devil (Japanese: エーテルデビル) Monster Family is a recurring group of four monsters in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in Super Famicom Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995, making it one of the Original Monster Families. Its most recent appearance was in iOS/Android Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (SP) in 2019.

The Air Devil Family consists of:

  1. Air Devil (Japanese: エーテルデビル)
  2. Wraith Devil (Japanese: ファントムデビル)
  3. Mirage Devil (Japanese: ミラージュデビル)
  4. Astral Devil (Japanese: アストラルデビル)

The Air Devil Family has made a cameo appearance in the Danganronpa series in 2021, under the name Aetherkuma.

Trivia

  • The Air Devil family is one of two monster families to have additional levels over 3 games, instead of 2 like the rest. The other family to gain levels this was is the Dead Soldier Family.
    • Originally, most monster families had 3 levels, and later games added a fourth. The Air Devil Family was a single monster until Magic Castle GBC added levels 2 and 3. Level 4 was added in Asuka the Swordswoman for the Dreamcast.
