The Katana (Japanese: カタナ) is a weapon in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. A new Katana lacks any weapon Rune.

It may not be a wise decision to combine Runes into a Katana as if the player is considering further upgrading the weapon, they will all be lost.

Further Upgrades

When a Katana +50 is given to a Blacksmith in Bamboo Village or Mountaintop Town and 1,000 Gitan is paid, the Katana will be turned into a new Firebrand. This is given to Shiren with no upgrades or seals, though has a higher upgrade potential than a Katana, +99 and has a higher base damage of 20.

Katanas and Kabra's Blades are the only weapons in Shiren 1 that can be transformed into another item once fully upgraded.
